Hey world!! So the 4 course party menu I promised, is working its way into the blog. Today we will take a look at the first appetizer- a 2 in one cheese fingers coated in oats flakes.
It’s a neat snack for kids who don’t like oats J. I promise they’ll ask for more if you serve it like this!
Keep the cheddar slices thin and mozzarella thick but not too thick. If you wish to make it spicy add some pepper powder or chilli powder or some green chilli paste to the egg before coating. You can add caramelized onions and some red chilli flakes instead of oats, tat’s even yummier. I used oats so that my little one could have them too.
Ingredients: (Serves- 6 to 8)
Mozzarella cheese - 250grams sliced into long thin pieces
Mozzarella cheese - 250grams sliced into long thin pieces
Cheddar cheese- 100 grams sliced into long thin pieces
Egg - 2
Spring roll skin
Oat flakes for coating
Oil for deep frying
Method:
1. Sandwich a slice of cheddar between the mozzarella slices and roll into the spring roll skin as in pictures. Fold the open ends and stick them inside the rolled portion.
2. Beat egg, dip each roll in it and coat in oats. Give a generous coating of egg before you roll in oats. use yoru fingers to pat some into the folds so that it's sealed.
3. Heat oil, on high flame, fry till golden colour.
4. Cut them into halves and serve with sauce of your choice. And serve hot because the cheese texture hardens once the rolls are cold.
interesting recipe!!! (^_^)
ReplyDeletei like this coz cheese is one of the precious few things my girl eats. but finding spring roll skin or dough sheets is not easy here. they should be available easily only then these tasty stuff becomes easy to make. i always roll out the dough. it's yum but time consuming.
